More than 148 years ago, six faithful visionaries with philanthropic hearts founded Belmont Abbey College.

To date, their impact has been immeasurable— felt by students and parents, the faithful Catholic community, priests and monks, and untold individuals across the world who have met our alumni or received our educational Catholic resources. 

Our founders gave their time, efforts and financial resources to Belmont Abbey, faithfully believing that its mission would endure long past their own lifetimes.

This mission is to educate students in the liberal arts and sciences so that in all things God may be glorified. 

Today, you have the chance to continue this mission and invest in the Abbey’s future by making a donation to our Founders’ Day Challenge.

We invite you to honor the tradition of our Founders, build upon their mission, and support the vibrant community they sacrificed so much to create.

During the Founders’ Day Challenge, you are invited to become an Abbey Founder for the day by supporting the particular academic or student life program that matters most to you. You can help to:

• Support Honors College speakers, events, and travel, providing students with a firm foundation in the intellectual roots of Western culture and empowering them to grapple with essential questions;
• Create new, collaborative study spaces and complete the Special Collections area by supporting the Library;
• Support the English Department and increase students’ access to intellectual and professional development opportunities through programs like the Conference on the Catholic Literary Imagination and the North Carolina Writers’ Network;
• Fund student travel and leadership training and refurbish student community areas by supporting Student Life;
• Support Abbey Motor Sport and offer students experiential learning through conferences and events like the Women with Drive Conference, the Daytona Rolex 24 Hour Race, and Indianapolis’ Performance Racing Industry Trade Show;
• And so much more!
