Develop the Next Generation of Virtuous Business Leaders

This Founders’ Day, the Business Department is fundraising for scholarships and professional development.
Business at the Abbey is about merited financial success and much more. In addition to imparting key skills and knowledge, the Business faculty is committed to modeling and encouraging the further development of honesty, integrity, and virtue in our students who will become future leaders in business.
Last year with the generous donations received through this fundraiser we were able to create the Investment Club which has allowed students to manage a stock portfolio.

The Economics department helped me forge a new path! When I entered the Abbey, economics was only a minor, and in four years, I became part of the first economics graduating class in decades. Thanks to the professors’ encouragement, especially Dr. Watson as my advisor, I graduated summa cum laude and was honored as an “Economics Student of the Year” – both of whom were female. I am now pursuing an M.A. in Economics at George Mason University and conducting research as a MA Fellow at the Mercatus Center. I am so thankful for the guidance of the Economics department and am excited to see what my future holds.

I changed my major from business management to accounting after taking Principals of Accounting my sophomore year. I after graduation I was offered a position doing corporate accounting for a small private company. I’ve held numerous positions in accounting and finance and worked for three different companies throughout my career. I am currently a Legal Entity Controller at BofA. I truly love my job and enjoy going to work every day. I thank my amazing accounting professors at The Abbey for guiding my path.
