Peace through Contemplation

Increased fear, worry, and anxiety have hit new heights for many. The stress and anxiety of the world is creeping into the lives of even the most faithful Christians — placing a strain on their faith, families, and relationships.

Lectio Divina is a form of scriptural prayer that draw the participant’s focus away to the life-giving word of God and the powerful goodness of our Lord Himself. This perspective adjustment brings both peace and reassurance to curb the anxiety that so persistently plagues us.

Since its founding in 1876, Belmont Abbey College has dedicated itself to serving our region, our country, and our Church as the Catholic College of the South, seeking always to offer the best of liberal arts education to the young men and women who will infuse their homes, communities, and culture with Christian light.

In the spirit of this mission, we’ve created a resource based on Lectio Divina — a monastic discipline dating back to the 6th century — to help you embrace the peace of Christ.
