Founders’ Day – Friends

Your Vision

More than a century ago, Belmont Abbey was founded thanks to six faithful visionaries with philanthropic hearts.

To date, their impact has been immeasurable— felt by students and parents, the faithful Catholic community, priests and monks, and untold individuals across the world who have met our alumni or received our educational Catholic resources.

Our founders gave their time, efforts and financial resources, faithfully believing that their vision would stand the test of time.

Today, you have the chance to make history and invest in the future of the Abbey.

We invite you to honor the tradition of our Founders, build upon their vision, and bolster the vibrant community they sacrificed so much to create.

During the Founders’ Day Challenge starting on April 1 and ending at midnight April 24, you are invited to become an Abbey Founder for the day by supporting the particular academic or student life program that matters to you most.

When you become a Belmont Abbey Founder For a Day, you make a direct impact on the program of your choice…

Pay tribute to the specific programs that are closest to your heart. With your donation today, you can:

  • Provide future generations with a firm foundation in the intellectual roots of today’s social, political and cultural movements while helping them grapple with the tough questions and gain the confidence to speak truth into the world by supporting the Honors College;
  •  Provide future educators with a dedicated space to prepare for their leap into teaching our youngest generations and the tools needed to make an immediate impact on their students by supporting the Education Department;
  • Fund much needed academic research and scholarship, increasing the Abbey’s impact on the national theological conversation by supporting the Theology Department
  • Facilitate the acquisition of new research tools for digital history allowing for faculty and students to reach new audiences beyond The Abbey by supporting the History Department;
  • And so much more!

In the pages below, Abbey professors have laid out their specific needs and fundraising goals for each of their programs.

 Will you step up and help ensure the already excellent Abbey education continues and transforms to meet the growing needs of our students, staff, and faithful community?

This is your chance to lead as the first Belmont Abbey Founders did, make possible a Catholic Liberal Arts College degree available to

Make History Today!

Colleges and universities are meant to be great institutions of thought and development where the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom creates great thinkers, inventive creators, and virtuous citizens. Unfortunately, so many colleges and universities today are places where young people go and lose their faith— not grow it.

At Belmont Abbey College, our mission is to educate students in the liberal arts and sciences so that in all things God may be glorified. In this endeavor, we are guided by the Catholic intellectual tradition and the Benedictine spirit of prayer and learning.

Will you make your gift to instill virtue in the next generation today?

Your gift will make an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of many students— providing them with an education that will enable them to lead lives of integrity, to succeed professionally, to become responsible citizens, and to be a blessing to themselves and others.

If you make a gift to the Abbey today, you will extend the Abbey’s 144-year history of service to our students, to our state and region, and to the Church.
