Support the Chancellor’s Fund at Belmont Abbey College
The Chancellor of Belmont Abbey College is responsible for safeguarding and nurturing the Catholic and Benedictine identity and mission of the college so that “in all things, God may be glorified.” The College is constituted legally such that the Chancellor is always the current Abbot of Belmont Abbey monastery since the College is the primary apostolate of the monastery and the College is situated on monastery property.
Donations to the Chancellor’s Fund of Belmont Abbey College are disbursed at the sole discretion of the Chancellor of Belmont Abbey College to encourage, develop, and defend the Catholic and Benedictine identity of the College.
Abbot Placid Solari, O.S.B. is the eighth abbot of Belmont Abbey, founded in 1876 just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Abbot Placid holds a doctorate in Patristic Theology (the study of theologians of the early Church) and has translated major works of scholarship in this field.
